The Dialogue Flybook A33i is a nice device but one problem I had until now was the missing WPA support of the internal WM168 network device. But now I finally found a solution, it is based on informations if found here. A quick overview of what I did:
- You need Windows XP Service Pack 3
- Deactivate your WLAN Card via button on the keyboard
- Download the Modified AVWLPUSB.sys
- Put the modified AVWLPUSB.sys to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
- Activate your WLAN Card (Button on the keyboard)
- Go to Advanced tab in the driver properties and enable "Firmware Download"
- Restart your PC
Now you should be able to join a WPA network.

It worked fine for my home network but I also would like to know if there is a way to make it work on WPA2.
where i can donwload driver for wifi flybook v23i? help
I don’t know the chipset used in the flybook v23i. Maybe the driver for A33i works. Sorry I can’t tell you more. Concerning WPA2 support I could not yet figure out a way to get it working.
Hi, sorry to disturb you with this old thread, but the links to the file that needs to be replaced are voided, can you please give me another link to the file or perhaps mail it to me in a zip? thx.
The link works for me. You need to have 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) or a compatible program in order to be able to extract it.
Hi Pascal.
Where do I find these “advanced settings” to download the firmware?
I’m missing something…but don’t know what
Hi Jafo.
If you click on properties of your WLAN car in the windows Device Manager, you should get a dialog with multiple tabs.
On of this tabs should be called “advanced settings” or something similar.
If you click on that you should see a list, and in this list there should be a item named “Firmware Download”. You have to set this to “Enable”.
I hope this helps you.
There seems to be no such thing as “Firmware update” in the advanced settings of my ‘IEEE 802.11bg Wireless LAN USB’
I can see things like; Compression, Concatenation, Direct link, Roaming profile, etc.
Maybe I have another version of the driver or something like that? It says WLAN-G 14-4-2005, version 3.3.25.0, Not digital signed.
Thanks.
Too bad. For the time being I enabled hidden ssid wep on my access point with mac check.
Many thanks, I struggeled a lot with my Flybook before, but thanks to your perfect solution it finally works with wpa!
